Services

A consulting practice, supported by a vetted team.

Carolina Arborists is led by a Board Certified Master Arborist, Registered Consulting Arborist, and ISA Certified Arborist with TRAQ qualification, supported by a team of vetted ISA-certified arborists. When tree work is required, we specify it, select the crew, and stand behind the result. We don't offer estimates over the phone or opinions from the curb. We come to your property, evaluate your trees properly, and recommend the course of action that serves them.

Consulting & Tree Inventories

Clear, credentialed answers about the trees that matter most to your property.

Big trees can hide big problems. Damage from construction, neglect, or poor care often takes years to show — and once the decline is visible, the best chance to act has usually passed. A tree service crew isn't trained to catch it early. We are.

We assess your trees, pinpoint what's affecting them, and give you a written recommendation you can act on with confidence. Every report is grounded in the standards that hold up where it counts — ISA Best Management Practices, ANSI A300, and the consulting standards of the American Society of Consulting Arborists. As a practice led by a Registered Consulting Arborist (RCA #722) and Board Certified Master Arborist, we bring credentials only a small fraction of arborists hold.

Need to know what you have? A tree inventory maps and records every tree — species, size, condition, and location — so you can plan maintenance, budgets, or a property sale from facts instead of guesswork.

Planning to build? Bring us in early. We help protect the trees worth keeping before grading begins, while it still makes a difference.

Whatever the situation, you'll come away with a clear answer and a plan you can stand behind.

Diagnosis-led care

Plant Healthcare

For residential property owners with significant or specimen trees

A tree that looks fine today may be years into a decline that has not yet made itself visible.

By the time symptoms are obvious — thinning canopy, dieback, early leaf drop — the underlying condition has often been developing for seasons. Decline is usually a soil, root, or environmental problem, not a pest problem, and the remedy requires diagnosis before treatment.

We diagnose the cause of decline and prescribe a treatment plan. We do not sell treatment programs — we solve problems. Plans may include techniques such as soil decompaction, root collar excavation, vertical mulching, targeted nutrient or biological interventions, and ongoing monitoring. Execution is delivered by our team of vetted ISA-certified arborists under our principal's specification — not by a route-based pest control company.

Expert Pruning

For owners of mature, specimen, and heritage trees

A tree-lined street with well-pruned canopies and clear curb appeal

Your trees took decades to mature. The right pruning protects that investment — and the way your property looks and feels.

Pruning is the most important — and most misunderstood — care a mature tree receives. Done well, it strengthens a tree's structure, health, safety, and beauty. Studies link well-maintained mature trees to as much as a 15% increase in property value. Done poorly, it causes damage that can't be undone.

Good pruning is precise, not aggressive. We remove only what the tree doesn't need — dead, weak, crossing, or risky limbs — so it can put its energy into strong, healthy growth. We open the canopy just enough to let light and air move through, keeping the crown healthier and the form natural and balanced.

Every cut is planned. Our Master Arborist writes the pruning specification to ANSI A300 and ISA standards — what to cut, how, and how much — then selects and supervises a vetted, ISA-certified crew on site. You're paying for the judgment behind the work, not just the work itself. The result looks effortless, because nothing was rushed or overdone.

For specimen and heritage trees, we can set a simple care cycle, so they're maintained on the right rhythm rather than only when a problem appears.

Pruned correctly, the trees that frame your home keep getting better for decades. Let's make sure they do.

Additional Services

For any property owner who needs the work done right

When a tree has to come down, it should come down for the right reasons — and be handled by people who know what they're doing.

Removal is never our first answer. We recommend it only when a tree can't be saved or kept safely, and we'll tell you plainly when that's the case. But when it is the right call, we're glad to help — you don't need an existing project with us to ask.

We'll quote tree removal and stump grinding and put the work in the hands of one of our vetted, insured crews, overseen to the same standard as everything else we do.

In Charlotte, removing a large or heritage tree — any native tree 30 inches or more in diameter — can require a city permit, a replacement-planting commitment, and proper documentation. We know the process, the paperwork, and the people, including the ISA-certified assessment the city requires when a tree is hazardous. We'll handle it, so you don't have to.

One note: Carolina Arborists is a consulting practice, not a 24/7 emergency service. For an immediate hazard, call your local emergency tree service first — we'll pick up the assessment and recovery planning once the situation is safe.
